Join us February 28, 2020 for event number one from Tremolo:
A night of shoegaze, post-punk, electric trip-hop, and psychedelic sounds
Black Nite Crash
and DJ Retina Burn
Fri Feb 28 / 9 pm / $10
Frontman Jim Biggs defined Black Nite Crash from the beginning in 2002: “It’s my big, dumb rock band.” From then on, the group drew inspiration from past legends like Spacemen 3, The Jesus and Mary Chain, and The Stooges… all favorites, all built on simple and often primal ideas mixed with variations on a bad attitude. And volume, lots of volume.
Newagehealers‘ latest album Debris is a self-described “reflection of how life and politics are squeezing the lower and middle class and what that means for various characters featured in this document. This is our heart blasted through a lens of shoegaze, Husker Du era punk, psych rock, goth and even orchestral pop.”
Guest Directors: A Seattle band. Jazzmasters drenched in reverb. Post-shoegaze rock, dream pop, power pop and noise. Bluesy, dreamy, shreddy, psychedelic. “Of all the bands exploring shoegaze in Seattle, Guest Directors are perhaps the best at getting the balance of mood and power right.” — Nada Mucho
Myxa (say “Mu-ha”): “This Seattle duo’s debut EP is a promising 5-song set of dark trip hop combining brooding synths and guitars and moody beats with ethereal vocals and haunting melodies. South African author Ian S. Thomas contributed the lyrics to tracks 1, 2 & 4.” — KEXP
DJ Retina Burn is the founder of Neon Sigh and a representative of Tremolo events. He has maintained two long-running shoegaze/dreampop nights in the past titled Vapour Trail and Nowhere, and has played diverse and expansive DJ sets at gigs with The Telescopes, LSD and the Search For God, The Stargazer Lilies, Takako Minekawa, and others.
